About Cecra

The European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs – CECRA – is the European federation bringing together national professional associations, which represent the interests of motor trade and repair businesses, and European Dealer Councils on behalf of vehicle dealers for specific makes.

The main aim of CECRA is to promote the interests of its members and above all maintain a favourable European regulatory framework for the 336,720 enterprises of motor trade and repair businesses it represents through national associations and European Dealer Councils.

CECRA provides representation to its members within the European Institutions. It's work consists of monitoring the work of the institutions, developing and maintaining high representation within the institutions with the aim of following-up as well as influencing the decision-making process.

CECRA is an official member of the European Commission's High Level Group GEAR 2030. The GEAR 2030 ensures a co-ordinated approach. The official members within the group debate on the main challenges for the automotive indistry in the next 15 years and make recommendations to reinforce the competitiveness of the European automotive value chain. It also draws a roadmap for the smooth rollout of autonomous vehicles and analyses and discusses the key trends.  

CECRA is represented at all meetings aiming to make sure the interests of all its members are taking into account in the European Commission's recommendations and are included in the future roadmaps.

In direct contact with the consumers, not only do they sell, maintain and repair cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles, but they also play a key role in protecting the environment and are in the front line of road safety.
