About Cecra
The European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs – CECRA - is a European federation bringing together 23 national professional associations representing the interests of motor trade and repair businesses and 14 European Dealer Councils on behalf of vehicle dealers for specific makes.

The main aim of CECRA is to promote the interests of its members and above all maintain a favourable European regulatory framework for the 380,000 enterprises of motor trade and repair businesses it represents through national associations and European Dealer Councils.

CECRA provides representation to its members within the European Institutions and its offices are therefore located in Brussels nearby the European Commission and the European Parliament. CECRA’s work consists of monitoring the work of the institutions, developing and maintaining high representation within the institutions with the aim of following-up as well as influence the decision-making process.

There is more to the automotive dealer and repair sector than meets the eye. The companies and enterprises CECRA represents via its members are an essential element in our society. In direct contact with the consumers, not only do they sell, maintain and repair cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles … they also play a key role in protecting the environment and are in the front line of road safety.

In addition, the companies and enterprises CECRA’s members represent are responsible for making sure that motor vehicle maintenance and repair meet the appropriate environmental standards, in terms of air pollution, recycling, proper disposal of used oils, and that all the various vehicle components, such as brakes, head-lamps, air bags, etc. are functioning properly so that vehicles are safe for all road users.
